The "Authentic Nerd" Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 18, 2026
"I value your privacy as much as I value my own system's uptime."
What I Track (and Why)
This site uses AWS CloudWatch RUM (Real User Monitoring). Unlike traditional marketing analytics, the goal here is System Performance, not user profiling.
- Performance Metrics: I measure page load times, JavaScript errors, and Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP).
- Anonymity: Your IP address is used only to determine your general region (e.g., Newfoundland, Canada) to optimize CDN routing. Your full IP is never stored.
- Storage: Small, functional cookies are used by the AWS RUM client to distinguish unique sessions for performance aggregation.
- No Cross-Site Tracking: I do not track you across other websites. There are no "Like" buttons, ad pixels, or third-party marketing trackers here.
Privacy Browsers & Resiliency
If you use a privacy-focused browser like DuckDuckGo, Brave, or extensions like uBlock Origin, my performance monitoring will likely be blocked.
This is perfectly fine. My site is designed to be a Resilient System—it will work exactly the same for you whether the monitoring script fires or not. I respect your choice to stay invisible.
